Announcement of suspension for ‘><>‘

Today we are announcing the suspension of the player ‘><>’, otherwise Calvin Chen, from participation in the AEF Season 1 Division 1 for the duration of 2 rounds. During the series of Skatemasters vs Princes of Persia, at 5pm 28th Jan 2017, the player known as ‘><>’, otherwise ‘Fish’, was observed entering the AEF Twitch stream using the handle ‘Seventenths’. This occurred at the start of Game 2’s drafting phase. He utilised the Twitch chat to flame/insult the casters and other viewers present, for which the AEF admin ‘Cognus’ issued him with a 600 second timeout. At the end of Game 2, he was observed re-entering the Twitch stream. When Game 3’s drafting stage began, he was once again issued with a timeout, but he was observed to have rejoined/remained in the stream by the time the drafting stage was over and players had loaded into the game. At this point ...

Round 2 Summary

With the closing of Round 2, we certainly have some favorites developing early into AEF Season 1. Natural9 took down SeeYouAgain in a thrilling 2-0, with Shatan showing everyone in Game 2 why his KotL should be 1st banned, as he virtually defended his base solo, leading to a phenomenal comeback. What was even more surprising for us was that we finally got our first full series, with Skatemasters coming back from 1 game down against black sheep TheReturn. In what was a series of unfortunate events, including a max respawn time for Roshan, TheReturn were taken out in Game3, as ‘>’’s Phantom Assassin got that legendary, elusive triple crit to seal the win. Our Saturday games were also much closer than the results showed, as Princes of Persia took down TheLastSpartans after some very dicey decisions were made by both teams. Merchant, aka Dalimagic, showed off his amazing Clockwork skills, ...

AEF Season 1, Division 1, Round 1 Summary

The AEF’s Division 1 tournament is off to a running start with the completion of Round 1! After a break over Christmas, it’s exciting for all of us here at AEF to be bringing more Dota2 action to our OCE supporters and International viewers, with the best teams in the scene continuing their battle for the AUD7000 prize pool. The round 1 results showed that we certainly have some strong competition, with all four series that were played over the weekend going to a straight 2-0 result. Godot lead his team ‘SeeYouAgain’ to victory over ‘WhyShouldI?’, enjoying some sweet revenge after WSI upset them by stealing a game when they met in the Qualifiers. Natural9 continued their amazing run through the event, securing a quick clean series against Princes of Persia, while we all enjoyed an exciting Saturday where NoFancy, newly renamed to Skatemasters (SK8), ran over DTT Gaming in a thrilling 2-0 ...

Amendment to Teams in Division 1

The AEF is committed to creating opportunity for teams to be competitive in the OCE scene in a sustainable way. This means that we must always consider if a team has earned their place or can fulfill their commitment to play at a high level. It is with this that we have decided to remove ‘TeamNope’ from Division 1 and replace their slot with the 3rd place from the Playoff bracket, ‘The Last Spartans’. This decision was made because TeamNope did not have enough players to commit to playing in this season of AEF. Whilst we are sad that a team that played very well during the Qualifiers will not be playing in Division 1, TLS, known also as ‘Templar Esports’, have proven themselves worthy of this promotion. As a part of the AEF commitment to the OCE scene, we have set up an Opt-in database of players and teams that are ...

Announcement of suspension

The mission of the Australia Esports Federation is to grow and empower the Australian Dota 2 scene at both amateur and competitive levels. As such, our tournaments are open to all participants regardless of skill level or experience. Unfortunately, today we must announce the decision to issue a suspension on Kadir ‘KazzA’ Akbulut from all events run by the AEF or its associates. This means he will not be allowed to participate as a player, captain, coach, manager, or any other position within a registered team. We do not issue this suspension lightly or without due consideration. The player in question has caused numerous issues for the AEF during his participation in the Qualifying Event, which includes being disrespectful to both tournament admins and other players and demonstrating no remorse when confronted or questioned. Furthermore, the player in question is experienced in the competitive scene and should have both known better and ...
